Starting his journey in the early 1980s in the vibrant Pasadena/Altadena area, DJ SHWN quickly emerged as a key player in the burgeoning Los Angeles underground Hip Hop scene. His craft evolved throughout the late '80s and '90s, where he honed his skills spinning at iconic clubs and underground parties, becoming a staple in LA’s urban music culture.

A Legacy of Touring & Collaborations

In the 2000s and 2010s, SHWN transitioned from underground to mainstream, securing multiple high-profile tour dates with renowned artists. His ability to adapt his style to various artists’ needs while still preserving his signature sound has made him a sought-after DJ for tours and special events across the country. Whether performing for small intimate gatherings or large-scale arenas, SHWN has the versatility to captivate any crowd.

Currently, DJ SHWN DNTGVA is elevating his career by partnering with celebrity entrepreneur and chef, Nik Fields, in Phoenix to provide exclusive DJ services for high-profile corporate clients and VIP events. His work has included booking events for Arizona's Governor Katie Hobbs, the Phoenix Chief of Police, and political figures such as Congressional candidates Kari Lake and Reginald Bolding. "graphic recorder" or "live scribe"), Dayna enjoys being a Peer Support Specialist and Outreach Counselor with the Southern California Counseling Center. You can also find Dayna singing folk tunes, improvising comedy, and questioning systems with her friends in Los Angeles and abroad.
